FLORENT BENOIT

quit school and moved to Paris in 2011 to find his way in the art world.

Florent is a French artist born and raised in Toulouse. He went through architecture school hoping to improve his drawing skills.

Realizing a career as an architect wouldn’t fulfill his need to draw, he quit school and moved to Paris in 2011 to find his way in the art world.

In 2015 he started a new career as a frame maker in the Marais in Paris. Working for prestigious clients such as Hermès and several Paris museums has given him the opportunity to encounter numerous artists.

In 2016, he met the New York based painter Mark Beard, who became his friend and mentor. Mark gave him the confidence to get into life model drawing.

Florent now focuses on male life drawing. His watercolors have been shown at the Fire Island Biennial Art Show and at the Love My Way exhibition, which was part of the Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères, in the south of France.

He also applies his technique to other mediums such as ceramics. He has recently created a series of plates which have been well received in Paris and New York.
