J.H. ALLEN
Allen lives and works
in Key West where he has developed a growing reputation as a muralist and abstract painter in the mediums of fresco, oil, and acrylic.
Allen began with private art instruction as a youth growing up
in the Southwest.
He attended the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, as an art major,
and also received degrees as a musician.
He then spent a career in academia as a music professor while continuing to paint.
When he retired from teaching, Allen returned to his art full-time.
Allen's art has sold in galleries in and around Atlanta, Georgia, where he moved in 2004. Currently Allen lives and works
in Key West where he has developed a growing reputation as a muralist and abstract painter in the mediums of fresco, oil, and acrylic. His work has been shown since 2012 at the Studios of Key West, Joy Gallery, and Harrison Gallery.
Beginning in 2018, his work is represented in Fort Lauderdale, FL, at M.A.C. Fine Art (macfineart.com), 833 NE 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He is currently a featured artist at the Stone Soup Gallery, 802 White Street, Key West, FL, and he has collectors spread throughout the South and the U. S. eastern seaboard including New York City.
